Our Story
It started with one person who needed help — and a woman who couldn't walk away.
Cindy had been a caregiver since the age of 16, so when she saw a man with developmental disabilities falling through the cracks of a broken system, living on the streets with nowhere to turn, stepping in wasn't a choice. It was simply who she was.
She and her husband John opened their home to him, providing the round-the-clock care and stability he so desperately needed. What began as one family's act of compassion quietly grew into something far greater — a full-force mission rooted in that same belief that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and cared for.
In 2020, Cindy planted roots in Lane County, Oregon with the founding of Rise & Shine Social Enterprise — and from day one, has been pushing the industry toward something better.
Cindy has been a caregiver for nearly 20 years and founded this company on the belief that everyone deserves quality care & support - both the clients and the employees.
